Non-brush, Monocromatic, Emotion Painting Reflection . April 16, 2013
1. In my blue painting about depression my strong part is the theme and what it expresses because it I think it symbolizes depression well.
2. I could have done the bottom blue corner better because there are some specs of white paint that I did not cover up to well .
3. The theme of my painting is depression. I represented it with blue, black, and white. The white is being overtaken by the black and the blue defines the mood.
4. The major hue of my project is blue. I used blue to help add to the theme. The black and white helped add to the story.
5. I used a canvas because it is easy and I wanted to make the frame. I used my hands because it was the only thing I had. It challenged me to come up with a new way to paint. It was easy.
6. I learned that you don't need a brush to paint. Life would still be interesting if it was all monochromatic because of all the shades and tints.
7. First I made the canvas, then I added the paint. The theme was not first chosen, it was random. I had no plan. I just let my paint go where it wanted to.
8. Yes, I think it is a worthwhile project, but don't have it be non-brush, monocromatic, and emotional all together. Only one or two of them at a time.
