Paper Cutout Sculpture Reflection: May 6, 2013
1. I think the background is done very well because I used more then one or two colors. The colors also work very good together.
2. I could of done a better job picking out the color used as the top coat because I think black would of had a better contrast against the light background colors. It could of stood out more.
3. My theme is butterflies because it reminds me of Ohio and my youth.
4. The butterflyies pop up against the background to make it look as if they are flying. I selected a dark blue color as the top layer and lime green, pink, and light blue as the under layer because I thought they would look good together.
5. I think the light, multiple colors chosen as the under layer emphasis my sculpture. It provides a better view of the details and makes them stand out more.
6. I learned that a 2-D drawing can be turned in a wonderful 3-D sculpture. The extra work put into a project, the better the results.
7. I first decided on the theme then drew out what I wanted the butterflies to look like. I then cutout the butterflies and put them on a big sheet of paper. Next, I applied the background. I had the size planned out. Not much changed from the beginning.
8. Yes, I think it is a worthwhile project because it required thought and time. I liked it.
