2-D: Paper Maquette sculpture Reflection. February 26, 2013
- 1. My project stands upright and has little mistakes. I like how the subject is obvious and how the cape looks like it flows in the wind.
2. I think I could have been neater with the glue and connected the arms in a better way. The arms are not the best because they would not stay together so I had to use extra glue.
3. I made Superman! It represents my favorite fictional hero.
4.The site for this sculpture would be at P.M Park next to the telephone booth. I really like superman so I wanted to make a scultpture representing him. I selected the design before the site because it matched the theme.
5. The arms, legs and cape are folded in a way to make it stand out and more detailed. I made those areas detailed so that it would be obvious that it is Superman. I folded the paper and superglued certain parts to complete my detail
6. I learned that it is very challenging to control paper, but it is possible. I can use paper to make things in the future and it can help me in future projects.
7. First I thought about what I would like to do and came up with a quick sketch. Then I cut out the pieces and folded them to my liking. After I folded the pieces, I superglued them and twisted them to get them into the shape I wished. I did it this way because I knew it would work. It was not entirely planned. I decided on the Superman symbol first and ended with the head.
8. Yes, this is a worth while project. It challenged me in a new way and expanded my creative ability. I think Mr. Purdy shouldn't change anything because it was good enough the way it is.
